Visas for Korea
Please note: Starting November 16, 2008 US Passport holders DO NOT require a visa for travel to South Korea for Business unless the planned visit is over 90 days
Step 1: Have a Valid Passport
You must have a passport with at least 6 months of validity remaining and visa pages available for the visa stamp. If you need to obtain a United States Passport, renew a US Passport or add pages, we can help you with that - see "Get a US Passport" above. Step 2: Print and Complete Korea application
This packet contains the application you must fill out. Please complete all questions in ink on the application. Question #23 should state your complete hotel address and queston #31 must contain a complete name, address and phone number of contact in Korea and match the info in the business letter - see below. Step 3: Assemble Documents
We will take your documents to the Consulate of Korea and once the visa has been issued, pick it up and ship it to you.
There may be occasions when the Consulate will want to see additional documentation; AVS will contact you as soon as we are notified of any problems. We cannot always predict what additional items the Consulate may need to see.
In addition to your completed application, you must provide the following:

+ Copy of Passport Photo Page - make a copy of the picture/information page.
+ 1 Passport-type Photo - 2 inches x 2 inches, color photos on a white background; colored or dark backgrounds not accepted

+ Original business letter on company letterhead signed by Senior Management (other than the applicant) stating the following:
- name and address of contact in Korea
- length and purpose of visit
- statement of financial responsibility
- mention of round trip tickets

Important Notes
Please be certain all information on the Korean application is completed.
The Business Letter MUST BE NOTARIZED.
Once an application is made to the Korean Consulate, the passport will not be released until the visa process is completed.
Step 4: Place order & send documents
Once you have completed the application, gathered all the necessary documents and review any Important Notes you are ready to place you order with American Visa Service.
